This is the first Displacement-amplifying Compliant Mechanism (DaCM) before this acronym was coined. It was obtained using topology optimization. Its asymmetric design is intriguing. When we press the flat bar at the bottom, the top-middle points moves with amplified (7X) motion. It was later modified for 50X and 100X amplification and was used in multiple applications including a tissue-cutting device.
